Handcrafted bespoke historical uniforms.
Specialists in the First and Second Empire, theatre, live performance and cinema.
Since 2002, Uniformes d'Empire has been preserving the art of bespoke historical uniform making in Belgium. Specialising in the First and Second Empire periods, we create infantry, cavalry and gendarmerie uniforms for historical re-enactment enthusiasts, theatre and film productions, as well as museum projects.
Each uniform is patterned, cut and hand-sewn in our workshop in Thuin, with constant attention to historical authenticity and respect for period sources. From the first contact to the final button, we guide you through your project with the skill of an artisan and the passion of a historian.
Uniformes d’Empire: tradition & continuity
Founded in 2002 and taken over in 2025, the workshop continues a savoir-faire passed on directly by its founder, Fabien Scaillet. Each uniform is designed, patterned and sewn in our workshop, with constant attention to historical authenticity and precision of finish.
The workshop is now located in Thuin, Belgium, in the heart of the Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse region, an area shaped by military history and artisanal traditions.
